In the garden Tragically sun baked Nothing grows here It's a place of hate The sun beats down No water to be seen Rusted closed is the gate The sun slowly sets But it's too late The heat will never fade Destruction is the garden's fate
definately paints a forboding picture. one can look into the depths and see many meanings here.. relationships, depression, and even humanity as it is today. with a title like "life's shadows" one assumes (at risk of making an a*s of oneself) that its meant to be taken metaphorical. in any case, wonderfully done.

Yes, heat and drought are good ways to describe heat and the death of the garden as well. Nice work on this poem.

Too much is never good... magic word play.

Many meanings present in this poem. Nature and human emotion. Hate kills the joy of life and turns its dark and the sun, without any life giving rain, destroys the landscape, killing a lot of the plant life and animal life as well. I enjoyed your poem.
And in the heat of these shadows, nothing can exist. It is sowed with hate, grown with hate, and shall die because of the hate!! Your description of all is very vivid.....I must go and get a cold drink......lol
Tis a lovely write!!
