Cold Emptiness

Cold Emptiness

A Poem by Tina Kline

Something is burning into my head
Leaking back out all the places I've fled
A certain agony perfumes the night air
Of life's tragedies I am painfully aware

Something is clawing across my mind
Reality is just too hard to find
Instead I hide in the dark licking my scars
Too bad I never realized I'd gone too far

Something cold should be proclaiming my dates
When I started and when I finally met my fate
I've gone into the barren uncaring ground
With no stone it's only the wind making a lonely desolate sound

Impressive write. The reader can't help but feel the pain of madness taking over a tormented mind. The images and descriptions are powerful in this, conveying the
terror one feels when they think they are loosing their minds!

Thanks!
I feel the pain of your words here. Sometimes I feel as if I'm about to off that dark and freeing and very frightful deep end.

When there is no fire, or a spark of caring, it is indeed a cold, cold place!
Slipping into the barren uncaring ground is a lonely place indeed
Nice write!
