Another Place, Another Land

Another Place, Another Land

A Poem by Tina Kline

Seeking inner peace
all I find is turmoil
Death lurking
The beautiful Grim Reaper
beckoning me betokening me
across the River Styx
calling me seducing me
In her I see such caring
I see only peace and kindness
I see only compassion and love
Why stay here in this world
of endless pain and despair
of cruelty and hate
it's hard to find any beauty here
why stay? I ask year after year
I look at my personal Grim Reaper
I take her hand and I go with her
across the River Styx to another place
I escape with her to another land

Why indeed?

Some of us have more cause to stay than others while some have no reason at all. The division is stark and erratic. Life it seems, and the lot that "fate" hands it is uneven, chaotic and ugly. Some are blessed and others cursed.

Though, sometimes it appears that those who go through hell and come out alive are either so broken that death would be a mercy, or some of the strongest individuals alive.

Still...it is all so uneven.

Thank you for sharing, Tina. I hope you continue to find a satisfactory answer. Though it might not seem like it, I'm certain the world would be less if you were not in it.

Be well.

Feeling suicidal feelings are a terrible things to endure. your poem captured perfectly the horror of what it feels like and how the person suffers.

Thanks you very much.....:)
A frightful poem. Sometimes some of us just want to die.
The world is bleak, life is bleak, we've done all we can to fix it.
So why not move on?
Impressive work here.

This poem is very moving. Depicting the Reaper as female is an interesting twist. good write.

I certainly hope you are just musing and not really pondering these questions.
