Waiting For Life

Waiting For Life

A Poem by Tina Kline

Winter teardrops
frozen pearl like beads
falling from a slate grey sky

The world slumbers
yet it never sleeps
always open is an uncaring eye

Icicles hanging like glistening fangs
tiny hungry birds twittering
I so do feel like I must cry

When will spring arrive?
When will Death fade away?
never - never I realize

Your title is pertinent. It does feel like that..waiting..waiting for life to spring where warmth enters every cell and life is re energized; where life is full of natural beauty that inspires. You have fantastic descriptions of the dreadful winter. Especially love the third verse.

Very good description of winter. Thoughts of spring brings new hope of nature coming back from its long winter slumber to bring beauty once again to our world.

Thanks!!!!!
Very eerie poem. I, too, feel winter represents the ending of things, life. New life emerges in the spring but it doesn't come from winter, it comes in spite of winter because winter kills off some much life while its around. Amazing poem with amazing descriptions.

Thank you!
Many say that winter is a time of slumber and rejuvenation but to me winter is the season of death. It has always felt that way to me with the cold grey skies and the snow on the ground. Lack of color.
