Broken Angel

Broken Angel

A Poem by Tina Kline

So many dark thoughts

haunt her mind

broken angel

with tattered feathery wings

blood splattered

heart and soul broken

she cries to Heaven

but only Hell hears

only Hell answers

as she stands one last time

unfurls her broken wings

broken wings

she cannot fly

broken wings

she dreams of suicide

sad lost angel

no one loves her

no one cares

she cuts herself to bleed

her crimson tears

shivering in fear

in this alien place

on this alien landscape

abandoned and rejected

what will become of her

she can't help but wonder

Though this angel is so perfect and beautiful, she has a broken wing, a broken motivation to continue, an inability to feel. It’s not enough just to be, for one must have an urge to continue in this way. We feel an existential motive, therefore we wish to continue to be. This angel is being loved, but she can’t feel that love that’s being freely given, nor can she give love. She descends into the abyss of loss, a loss of sentient consciousness.

Strong stuff. You capture the feeling of emotional flightlessness really well. We all need our wings to work for us and it is sad for all of us when they don't.

Thank you very very much.
no matter perfectly we live our lives, if we are not loved, we will sink into the greatest despair.
there is a tortured sadness to this angel...feeling so alone...
my heart was cut by this poem...and i am bleeding for the angel.

Thank you very very much.
A very beautifully written poem about a sad tragedy. I'm sure most people can relate to these dark feelings at some point in their lives. I like this write.

You're very welcome. :)
Your words here create a very sad, desperate, helpless feeling.
Where can one go for help when no one cares?
A government agency? That is sad.
