Night And Day

Night And Day

A Poem by Tina Kline

Dawn was slow and steady
Bleeding across the grey sky
Red, yellow, and orange
Sweeping unfolding bird wings

Night fades away
Black wings folding inward
Eyes closing as the sun rises

The fire spread and spread
Songs rose to greet the new day
The leaves rustled in the morning breeze
Flowers opened their blooms skyward

But in the shadows the night waited
Turned in upon herself but alert
She would return and reign again once more

A very beautiful nature poem. Love the way it unfolds and folds back up, almost like a living being.

A fine poem in the tradition of the natural observation of Ted Hughes, finely spun, excellent poetry.
