Trapped In Darkness

Trapped In Darkness

A Poem by Tina Kline

darkness creeping
silent - spider like
creating inky webs
encompassing my reality
constricting - terrifying

yet why care?
somber - dusky wounds
suicide thoughts
enter into my mind
like baby spiders
hatching from corrupt spider eggs
I cry - I cry some more
I dream of escape

why not?
damaged I am
peace I seek
why live
when living is painful
dreadful
horrible
like so many spiders
crawling around inside

this reminds me a bit of something anne sexton once said in a poem..."wanting to die"

she said "even then i have nothing against life"

and yet she wanted to feel it, feel the release....
