I Lost My Mind

I Lost My Mind

A Poem by Tina Kline

Reaching for the rainbow butterflies
that aren't there
Reaching for the black butterflies
that aren't there
reaching for the white butterflies
reaching for the green butterflies
that aren't there

I've lost my mind
I'm no longer there
I've lost my mind
reality seems no where

So many butterflies
I reach for them all day long
I reach for them all night long
I never tire
I never tire

My mind is lost
I can't find it
I can't locate it
My mind is gone
Where is it?
Where is my mind?

Fluttering somewhere
with the butterflies
lost where the butterflies
fly all day and all night long

A very clever poem about madness and the loss of one's mind. I think we all would like to lose our minds once in a wild, just not all the time. And in a way we do with movies, music, TV shows, reading...escaping reality for a spell or two. Impressive and creative poem! I enjoyed.

You have not lost your mind You made us loose our minds
I mean why butterflies? do the symbol the cycle of life? or is it because they start so little and grow so beautiful? or does it simply symbol the young and innocent years of our lives?
and why have you chosen to color them ? and most people go crazy at night why did you choose daylight ?
It doesn't really matter for I believe that as writers we translate our emotions and thoughts into words at a moment of inspiration
Well done and I truly believe that the more you read the better you become so a little more experience you can drive all the way to mental hospitals
Keep it up

Like the theme here, the indirect approach, when you write about what you don`t discover, so this is an indirect angle, about loss and illusion, well written !
