Somewhere Deep Within

Somewhere Deep Within

A Poem by Tina Kline

Somewhere deep within

where nothing exists at all

is an empty place of pain

slowly consuming me

tearing at my reality

darkness bleeds

an unending flood of crimson terror

I seek relief

on the Plains of Nothingness

but even in this barren place

something does exist

ravens and vultures

circling overhead

waiting for me to be dead

the pain nibbles and devours me

and I lay dead on a vast Expanse of Blank

where the Eaters of the Dead

come to feast

suicide to the other side

just don't forget

to Pay the Ferry Man

Even the Grim Reaper wants to be paid

Each of us have our weight to carry. Must put the bad things aside and go forward. I like the honest tone and true outlook of the words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

A very dark poem full of coldness and horror.
Outstanding writing. I agree, the ending is a shocker but
not so surprising. It coasts money to do most anything, even die.

Awesome horror poem. What a dark ending, like saying "Death and taxes, the only guarantee in life is death and taxes." Well d one poem.

Wow, darkly beautiful and terrifying. All my hair is standing on end. And the ending, Even the Grim Reader wants to be paid, how cold and depressing. Even in death you need to pay for services. Impressive write.

and he will wait for his payment, patiently---

even in the land of nothingness, there is something ....we just can't escape all the dark realities.

you write "dark" so well, Tina.
