HowlingA Poem by Tina Kline
Howling
Across the nightmare city Windows glaring yellow light Howling Something hungry stalking None are safe, none They come, walking upright Claws and talons, scarlet eyes Fangs slashing, lipless smile Howling They prey on humankind Easy to catch, tear apart Drinking the blood Eating the flesh Howling Death, painful and terrifying They die so easily They taste so sweet Humankind will lose They will suffer defeat Howling The dominate species Upright walking werewolves Apex predator Humankind, weak and useless But their flesh and blood Nourishing and tasty Howling © 2015 Tina Kline |
