Dark HungerA Poem by Tina KlineA vampire tale. The dark and decaying gothic church towers up into the grey cloudy sky ravens call out in their strange voices passing overhead as a flock they fly a cold wind gathers and slowly blows in the distance something evil cries Down the steps of this ancient church a woman in a long elegant black gown her skin is as pale as her hair is dark in the distance comes an evil sound holding her hand her dark ghostly child he casts his hungry gaze all around They pause half way down the wide stone steps looking as if they haven’t fed in centuries the cold wind coils and whips about them carrying on it the dead scent of eternity it rattles the limbs of the nearby bush spreading out the sensation of deep mysteries Mother and child feel the painful need for blood and descend the stone steps to enter the gloom she scents the coming dark for human prey as they hunt the night in a shroud of fear and doom she makes her kill and the two vampires quickly feed continuing their immortal existence beneath the moon © 2010 Tina KlineFeatured Review
