UnDead

UnDead

A Poem by Tina Kline
"

A vampire poem.

"
Mists rising beneath the sun
Hidden - twisted pale ivy
Tendrils - Tortured hands reaching
A fevered breathing - Lustful
Emerging from the shadowy depths
An ivory fanged face of Death
Haunted white bloodless eyes
Breathing without any breath
Lurking about the graveyard
Seeking her name on the tombstone
Desperate for peace - desperate for rest
An end to her eternal pain
Flinging herself into her coffin
Impaling herself with a silver cross
She screams - Blood sprays - Blood spills
But the Dead cannot die
So weeping, she crawls back into the night
She goes forth once again to kill
Cursed - She must live - Punishment for her sin
And the blessed peace of Death
The Damned can never win

A sad vampire in this tale. I feel for her. Nice pen upon this.

A darker vampire tale, the vampire just not happy with her undead state. A tragic figure who has to continue to exist just as she is. Nicely done.

A tortured immortal soul who doesn't want to be one. Intense with fantastic imagery and emotion in this.

A different side of the story. Well said. Makes you think about not wasting your life when you have a say in what to do with it. Great description.

i like that this shows her suffering when it's normally glamorized. that's what draws people in, the lure of living forever and time standing still on our appearance. yet the reality of it 'sucks'. ;)
