Urban WerewolvesA Poem by Tina Kline
Seattle, Washington where several werewolf packs live. Slipping through the urban zones A perfect stalking ground of concrete and steel They come like black ghostly shadows The city streets are cold and inhumane But icy are the hearts of humanity Who love to give but can’t take pain
Hunger drives with powerful need The urban werewolf packs come out At dusk they stalk, kill and feed Their hearts as cold as those they consume Who misses the few who disappear Humanity is blissfully unaware of this doom
The city under storm clouds or sun The werewolves are here feeding They thrive in these urban zones Always watching and always waiting Their howls echo over the city but are ignored From their red hungry stare there is no escaping
Werewolf packs hunt the parks and city streets They pass through neighborhoods and backyards They peer into windows seeking what they need Their endless hunger driving them forth When you see them know it’s too late You’ve just become their main course
