Hot Afternoon

Hot Afternoon

A Poem by Tina Kline
"

Insect hordes descend on a hot afternoon.

"

The drone of insect swarms
the afternoon is growing hotter
the sun seems less pleasant now
the afternoon grows oppressive
the dogs lay about
no one wants to move
the insect hordes intensify
the afternoon is hot
seeking shade is the only incentive
to move to a new location
the afternoon wears on
and finally, at last
all the insects are gone

Indeed this describes a very hot afternoon full of pesky insects. Its always a relief when it cools off and the insects go away. I like this!
