As Free As Can Be

As Free As Can Be

A Poem by Tina Kline

Swimming
          Sea otter
Ancient Sea Turtle
          Through ever shifting
Emerald and aqua waters
Overhead
          Spinning crazy circles
Ebony seagulls
           With violet eyes
I leap from the water
           Dolphin that I am
I laugh with the pure
           Unfettered joy of being alive
Around me
           Sea lions
                        Roar
Powerful as the pounding surf
                   And I
          Unfurl my ivory wings
Feathered Unicorn that I am
I sail up into the diamond studded atmosphere
Free as freedom can be
No chains to hold me back
At last - I can be me!

A very fun and carefree poem. Freedom brings great joy. We would be wise to protect our freedoms instead of willingly giving them away. Excellent writing!

Oh, how divine are your descriptions! I really like this one Tina! I can just see the colors, and creatures on your canvas as you pain on your words of poetry!
Lovely!!

This is rather playful in one way and glorious in the freedom expressed at the conclusion. I love the ocean imagery in this. A very enjoyable poem indeed!
