Country Afternoon

Country Afternoon

A Poem by Tina Kline

COUNTRY AFTERNOON

The green grass sways

long and wavy

bending and bowing

in the warm spring breeze

barn swallows

dark blue and brown

sweep back and forth

over and over

feeding on tiny insects

nearby

in a pasture

cows graze peacefully

as the day wears on

and the shadows of evening

softly descend
