A Chapter by Tkess

When you woke up you were cold

You needed a blanket and a coffee

You curled around me, a thick quilt

We spent the morning, never leaving the bedroom

Wrapped up in our covers and our thoughts

Inhaling your perfume, your hair tickling my face

Your laugh like bubbles in champagne, intoxicating

The morning light dances from wall to wall

From thought to thought

We lie silent beneath the covers

Our impenetrable fortress
