A short reflection on how materialism has destroyed Christmas

Returning to the town of his birth,
As everyone under Rome had to do.
His betrothed heavy with child
Accomodation options few…

She lay with the beasts of the land,
As Gods creations we all are one:
Her cries and prayers went to the night air �"
She gave birth to a Son.

He who was to die upon a cross,
So redeem mankind from Sin!
Who as slaves to Mammon would willingly turn,
To their own young, deny Him.

What does He who died for us
In his heart Sacred feel
As we tell our kids that there is no God
But Santa Claus is real?

Commercialism has indeed pushed the real reason for the season out the door..it
certainly seems that way wherever one.goes ..when Santa becomes more important than God we're in trouble . your poem let's us see how sad this really is and God's disappointment with mankind
