The Earthworm

A tribute to the earthworm

The earthworm is a friend to all

believe me I tell you true,

it cultivates the soil and with it, 

someday we surely shall imbue!

 

So if you ever pass one, on top stony ground

stop and help it on its way,

gently pick it up then set it down again,

upon a softer type of clay!

Then take a step back carefully 
watching where your feet doth trod
and be thankful you are still upright,

on the green side of the sod!
