Jeepers Creepers !

Jeepers Creepers !

A Poem by Tom
"

My entry for the Halloween contest...

"

Halloween is drawing near, I hope it’s not as terrifying as last year!

So many ghosts & ghouls came to my door, trick or treat their implore!

First Frankenstein tall and green, I felt sorry for him know what I mean?

Next Dracula scenting blood, but he’s just an amorous old stud!

A werewolf knocked awful hairy, I just smiled, he's not that scary!

Then a mummy wrapped in linen, from ear to ear had me grinning!

A zombie pretending to be dead, did not fill me full of dread!

along with several ghosts in white, had me chuckling an amusing sight!

The invisible man made me grin, I easily saw straight through him!

To each and every one I gave a treat, even a ghoul likes a sweet!

My final visitor a wicked witch, I laughed so much, I took a stitch!

Then she pulled off her mask and I got the fright of my life, Jeepers Creepers it was the wife!

Hahahaha! Love this very humourous write, dear Tom. Love how you found none of the usual ghouls scary until your last visitor showed up! What an amazing twist at the end! Very nicely done! Admiration for your poetic skills, Tom. I feel dear Mrs. Tom has an equally wonderful sense of humour as you have and saw the funny side immediately, bless you both. My Mr. Tom would fail to grasp the delightfully funny side if I wrote it about him. He's recovering from a dislocated shoulder at the moment, so I will spare him this year, but who knows what next year will bring. He might have a surprise too! Wonderful little gem, Tom. Love it and thank you for sharing, my friend...

I am loathe to admit I laughed at that line the hardest. And second at the bit about the wife. (smirk!) A great "Fun" Halloween poem. Enjoyed it very much. Made me grin!

Thank you David, she is a sport !
Trick or Treat!! With this fun write of Halloween which puts on parade so many of the "ghoulish" characters we endear as part of the holiday, we are entertained and reminded of just how many there are that come knocking at our door - including a surprise visit by Mrs. Tom!! I absolutely love the twist at the end, but if I were Mrs. Tom I would have my broom after you in short order!! At least Elvira wasn't there to whisk you away.........lol

Cute, very cute!!

Good luck with the contest my fiendish friend!!!

"it was the wife"

yes, quite a twist...

is there a message? metaphorically, reality is scarier than make believe?

i always loved halloween.

I haven't written any poems Halloween themed, though it is one of my favorite holidays! Why not?:)
