As the setting sun sinks in far horizon a hushed reverence imbues each face, fields of yellow flowers, silent and still pay hommage to love's farewell embrace
Together, they have roamed fields of flax admired butterfly and busy honey-bee, shared joyous intimacy of nature's wealth the innocence of youth so vibrant, carefree
Such sweet purity, lost on calloused hearts why does man grow aloof, his spirit crust, but rather, let insincerity, incongruity begone if he would catch a wave of childlike trust!
I enjoyed reading your poem, It reminded me of these lines.
"Nothing but a child could wash those tears away
Or guide a weary world into the light of day
And nothing but a child could help erase those miles
So once again we all can be, children for awhile" Steve Earle

Yes indeed a most relatable quote, spot on and thank you for your time & visit!!
Unfortunately, many do grow aloof, hardened by the way of the world. It's not a life sentence; it's possible to reform. Maybe poetry can help in that process.

An awesome poem!
Youth slips from our hands like sand. We build sand castles before the waves of reality crashes on. We awake to a new reality every day. We realize most precious time is gone. Capuche!
I feel it too!
