Carolina.A Poem by TraxlerFrom the colleciton, Mono no aware By Tylor TraxlerWait for me in a suspenseful summer sweat I’ll be higher than a jet painting skies with clouds Of smoke and sonically silent sound Until flames burn in a hurricane I’ll be fillin’ up my tank to head West Where I first saw a lightning storm And where my parents were both born In a perfect world I knew them well Don’t take me so seriously I’m just wading in a waiting room With cold feet and cold shoulders From strangers who stare with an unfamiliar familiarity Like jets crossing across a pink sky Or a poem about the how and why The coast of Carolinas reflecting hard across my eye Why did you have to go? Motivating my messy ways Now I pace and place the picture frames I saved from all those days On holidays, a special case, the end of year embrace Your warm face, and slower pace pressed me breathless in the shade
