The folks at the V.A. gave me an idea.

   I have decided to keep it.

 

 It isn't worth too much,

       it seems well-worn,

but I'm keeping it anyway.

 

They took all of my other ideas,

   and I miss them desperately.

 

   I'm a little worried, though…

 

What if they gave me back

                     one of my old thoughts?

 

   one I never even liked

   in the first place….
