Raven Of Regret

Raven Of Regret

A Poem by Tree Bark
"

this was a really old poem and it may not make much sense.

"

As I leaned on the old willow tree, reading my book,

A raven flew by and sat in its nest.

The raven had reminded me of my regrets.

Like how I shouldn’t have left people,

How I shouldn’t have broken so many things,

How I shouldn’t have cried so much,

Or how I shouldn’t have hurt so many people.

As I wept, my tears had stained the pages of my book.

The regrets, the guilt, the sadness and the disappointment

Had rushed to my head faster than blood.

I loathed the raven more and more as it stared at me with its intimidating eyes.

But when I looked at the raven’s nest I saw the raven’s children

It was not long before the loathing in my heart was replaced with gratefulness…
