A Poem by Tricessimus
"

The mostly true story of why I can't publish as T.S.Ulmus anymore

"
I can't remember my password.
But it's absurd that a word should be so divine,
a sign that's just mine plus a seven or nine.

Can't even remember which email I gave the site.
Some line which defines my mind late at night
(Followed by @gmail).
I fail to see the need to seed my mind
with brambles and scrambles of free-for-all scrawls.

Can't even recall a password for whatever email they got.
I forgot and it's not like some indelible blot
or some spot that's seared into my psyche.
More likely the hot brand of inscribing missed entirely
while I was imbibing with glee
or striving to see or express the esoteric
with phrases decidedly non-alphanumeric.

A security question will freshen my mind
"On what street did you meet your first love?
Please recall how tall was the fall
when she flew like a dove
from all that you ever had."
Now I'm locked out and sad.

It's really me, I swear.
Not one who would dare to impair
or impede or impress my impulsivity improperly
though I concede my proclivity toward impropriety.
I'd rather succeed in in addressing my creativity awkwardly.
As is my way.
Please don't make me pick a new identity.

I absolutely love this. It’s such a well written, fresh, funny poem about such a relatable subject. Some people may be able to remember their passwords, but me? Hardly ever. And I know for sure it’s not just me who relates to this. Your speaking the words of many! I just truly adored how brilliant this was. The rhymes, the subject, the execution. Thank you for sharing!

This is humorous and relatable. I once asked the question, what if a criminal became the victim of identity theft and then the thief were confused with and picked up by the authorities as the criminal? That's poetic justice. I enjoyed the read.

"it's really me, I swear!"

You have voiced the cries and anguish of so many of us! Such an ingenious piece of writing!

This was bomb; I don’t know how you were able to make it work like you did, so many verses on a forgotten password and all rhyming so smoothly. Fantastic my friend.

Nice alliteration and such a fun and true write...I have so many different ID's and passwords for different sites it is impossible to keep track of them...
Too many tries I get locked out....like writing a poem...too many failed attempts and the inspiration locks me out.
colorful truth here,
j.

The only thing worse is when you know your password and are informed it's no longer valid.
