The Evolution of my Being

I will walk with you grief
Just for a while.
I will sit in the dark with you depression
But one day I want to smile.
Anxiety, I appreciate your protection
But I’m learning to be brave.
Anger, thanks for sticking up for me
But I am growing into a woman that cannot be phased.
Regret, I will not forget, but I am refusing to dwell on the past.
Insecurities, let me introduce you to self love, a love guaranteed to last.
Heartbreak, i am mending the broken pieces and I am ready to be loved.
The evolution of my being requires me to let go of who I once was.

Chaos, you are evicted from my mind, negative thoughts rest In peace.
Fear, you caged me like a broken bird
But I don’t need wings to be free.

Mourning over who I once was
and as painful as it seems,
the evolution of my being
Is the birth of a queen.
