Reflection

Realization

The waters reflection,

is blurred by the splashing rain.

 

The mirror image, now so different

 

The night sky is illuminated by stars

so distant yet they watch over

like our guardians

 

Wondering...

 

"Why am I here?'

 

The memories of the past are forever

scarred in my mind

 

Yet...

 

Why is it my heart that is in agony?

 

But...

 

I feel nothing

 

Numbness...

 

My shirt is soaked now

 

I look up once more

 

No cloud in the sky...

 

I wiped my face careful of the hilt in my chest...

 

One last breath...

One moment...

 

Then I willfully fall back into my fate

Into my distorted reflection

I can appreciate the immagery in this piece. The flow for me was choppy, but that's not a bad thing in this case; it gave it a raw feel which I rather enjoy. One point of contructive criticism: the line, "The memories of the past is forever..." should possibly be "The memories of the past are forever..."

Beautiful!!! Such great, natural imagery in this, making it seem both like fantasy and reality at the same time. The way that this was written was haunting as well, almost like recalling a dream after you've woken up from it. I hope that makes sense - I really loved this poem, very unique!

For some reason i kept hearing it as a rock song i liked it tho thats not in a rude way haha but anyway the ideas good the fall back into my fate and distorted reflection was also a good ending so overall a great poem :)
