My Fear of Sharing

This is the first poem I've written in about five years... so please be gentle in your review :)

Stuck in a rut,

No where to go,

I don't know who I am,

And I have no clue how to know,

I don't want you involved,

Because you may just steal my flame,

You'll steal it for yourself,

And leave me in the dark,

All alone,

Still stuck in my rut...

Author's Note

Recently I've started a spiritual journey and I've only told a single person. While they still support me wholeheartedly, I feel like they are trying to get something out of my journey for themselves.. Even though it is probably not an intentional drive, it still makes me afraid of sharing what I find and incredibly self-conscious about anything I do... That is what this poem is about and I appreciate your having read it :)

I can relate to the feeling that comes across in your poem. I feel that most people have gone through moments in life when they feel like others seem to take away one's glory or act as an anchor in one's self discovery.
My thought is, if it's a journey that you are undertaking for you, then let what you discover also be fore just you. One need not always share those moments they find and hold sacred.
At the same time, does it really matter what others say or do? After all this journey is only just for you.
