Love's Lost ShoreA Poem by TwilightThe meanings of this piece should be self-evident. Anyway, a spontaneous piece to mark my return. I write ✍️ short stories too.! Enjoy. My email address is julianhawksworth@googlemail.com
As I looked down from the cliff,
Above the shimmering shore, My yearning for love, Seemed even now, Upon the shore, Unrequited still, Despite my senior years, Was it just me that became washed-up, Still seeking and bereft of sleeping, No more tears left for weeping, And yet I have returned, Your "twilight" king, To find fresh love?, Better still fresh rollicking! Does that make me a knave? Perhaps it does, But better a knave, Than a lonesome dove 🕊️!, Yet call me a dog, If you will?, I no longer care, And handsome still, A bane to others, An angel to some, A cherub I'm not, At 51.! Wanting lust without strings, At my age I have many things, Yet wanting to pleasure and converse with, A diversity of female kind, Please be my gift... © 2024 TwilightAuthor's Note
