A Picture of Love

A Picture of Love

A Poem by Twilight
"

Loosely linked stylistically, with my "A Picture Of Beauty"; and "The Portrait" poems (on this site).

"

I remember the bliss,

Of your first kiss,

That warm tongue,

And tender lips

That refined shape,

And of late,

Your face reminds me,

Of a portrait

Which I held,

In my hands,

When you travelled,

To distant lands

Away from me,

But your thoughts were near,

And my intentions were crystal clear

A rose for you,

I longed to spare,

To rest gently,

In your black hair

I think you know,

What could follow,

Timeless love,

Or endless sorrow.

I think this is very beautiful. it's melodic as some of the other reviewers stated. It flows so sweetly and then you end it by saying that it could end with
"timeless love
or endless sorrow"
causing it to be almost bittersweet because the reader realizes that it could end in sorrow...excellent write as always!

Indeed the "bliss of a first kiss"...something we can all relate to..:)

This poem flows nicely and takes the reader on a journey.....then the lover departs.....leaving possibilities.....timeless love or endless sorrow....

Thanks for sharing this emotional write,....

Julian, the romance is sharp and clear right out of the gate! Yes, I read the subtitle. This is based on a picture but adds to the excellence of the Poet!

The details are vivid and realistic. The bitter sweet ending almost brings tears of joy to my eyes.
Beautiful.

Julian, all I need to do is sign off and I can read you as Eternity.
You are a passionate poet, I must say that.
Forgiveness is a requirement to be forgiven.
Oh! A poem!
I adore your works. And you as my vampire (;

Thankyou kindly, EmpressPoetess.
Beautiful and heartfelt, with a kind of ambiguous ending. Just like love. Just like life.
