A Story From the Heart

I'm sorry for writing about the same thing for a while now..but...I just can't get it off my mind..:/

There's too many questions that have gone unanswered

I can't stand to see you walk away

And yet I have no choice in the matter

For you have decided not to stay

The days go by too slowly without your presence

I'm broken without you by my side

You said you had dreams of us staying together forever

But I see now that it was all a lie

I want to forget our time together that summer

Because it's causing me nothing but regret

But how am I to forget something so wonderful?

I still have dreams of you returning, yet

But time goes on somehow each day

Even though you are not here

I've thought over this whole ordeal many times

And now see that I can be happy without you near

So today I bid adeu to you, my love

Our story shall forever be in my heart

Do I think you leaving was a bad thing?

No, no...I see it as a gain on my part

This poem is somewhat true..(except for the last part. I'm not exactly ready to let go..:/)

A very sad and touching piece. I can truly understand this. But might I suggest something that is a bit confusing on the piece is "I still have dreams of you returning, yet/But time goes on somehow each day". If you took out "but" and left the rest as is. I hope that my advice helps you. :) All the best!
