Weekend

Weekend

A Poem by James Mckay

My alarm goes off
I roll over out of bed
I shower and wash

I go down the stairs
I walk into the kitchen
I make some coffee

Outside my window
A robin feeds its young ones
They all tweet for more

Right outside my door
Kittens nurse on their mama
I love when they purr

The sun is up bright
It's going to be a good day
I called into work

A three-day weekend
I have worked so very hard
I do deserve this

I load up my truck
With my pole and tackle box
To catch a big bass

My alarm goes off
I roll over out of bed
Monday has arrived!

About
Tx! Hello my name is James and I'm 46. I began writing at an early age and I'm sure most of our poetry started with "Roses are Red", etc. I'm not sure where my love or desire for poetry came from .. more..
