Don't Pull Flowers

Don't Pull Flowers

A Poem by tyson

There was this flower, right

The brightest I had ever seen

Growing in the most baron field I had ever been

I pulled it, I wanted it, and I was hoping to keep it forever

But what I pulled wasn’t what I loved

It began to shrivel and die in my palm

I cried and cried, but my tears couldn’t bring life

I put it back in the ground and watched it respond

The flower wasn’t mine to pull or possess,

I was just happy and lucky to stumble upon it in this mess,

Now all I can do is hope that one day it leans to live off of me like the sun

To smother is to kill and I already feel like Jeffrey Dahmer.

My intentions were never to harm her.
