Skeletons Left DrowningA Poem by UlyssesSA slightly dark poem, please do not read if you're having a good day :)
We're free to point fingers
After the dust has settled And the bloody ivory crown is claimed The Nation's Winners We're left to debate the morality of it The wishy washy defenses and the scathing aggressions To hang the loser above Show that we are the conquistadors now For a man is nothing without His Nation's Strengths We're devoted to ironing the truth Making it 1-dimensional easy to understand and grasp a black and white conflict of good and evil a thesis statement in an essay of evil Establish that the winner's ever hold god's righteousness For he is powerless without His Nation's Defenders We're able to sit here and discuss the destruction And hope to put an to our inflicted misery Because we do not consider the victims The skeletons shambling above and below Skeletons of the souls left behind in our weary nation That they will never see rest in their undead lives again Their eyes are bored open Doomed to witness the folly of man once again Watching embers from our ceaseless hatred of ourselves, cradled and preserved How they wish they could smother them all right now But they can't They are skeletons living with man Skeletons of a nation ripped apart, living on shreds And the skeletons below Bones piled to the endless heavens Arranged in sickly pyres A pyre to our humanity Such innumerable number of deaths That is no Tartarus Only an ocean of blood Metallic and suffocating Hades is drowning in his own depths of hell We forget these skeletons And their memories burned down into the ground We forget because we harry no dead man's tale Because in the ecstasy of winning We forget our Nation's greatness weakness Ourselves
