Possible Retrospect

... once I decided
  was good and forgot about
 what excited some people
 I changed my mind

 

lived like the day
 and I became familiar with it

did not mind the disturbances
 of others.
 peace of mind

 I gained in a safe place

 

lived as I knew is right
 and lived

 

wasn't overlooking of inequity

now that I knew what that meant
 the past was finally something to forget 

not intoxicated

pride and bad ideas went.

every moment was rich with life
 and with those I planted their ways

 that lead to life

Right walking in contrast to what I use to

Didn't mind others and

 they didn't mind me

Awareness was likened to a good drink
  saved for the occasion.

 

There was many places to go
humble more than a word

didn't need work.

effort considered and stored

these things didn't change
but it changed me

my youth had come and gone

and I still had
 the gifts I have
 Made the best with what I was taught

 thrills and excitement weren't worth the entertainment in comparison
 of being lost.
 anger was not my poison
 passion was disciplined
 had tolerance for what I perceived as foolishness

 knowing I was once a fool.
 we wear ourselves out.
 I learned.

 and as for envy,

 I had my glory

 and it wasn't given
 by other men.

 

like a man going to the right path
 a time came when
 reminded of when weak

 patient and willing
 corrected I stood
 within reach of a peace and prosperity

 

I kept a reflection
it reflected myself

clean.

knew what it was to have a clean house

 

with understanding came change
 and I knew myself.

 

laziness, sloth did not profit
 It only brought what I was avoiding.

 with simplicity I was able to do complicated things

 but when I was complicated
 I had trouble doing the simplest things.

this and much more started with keeping my word.
