Mother Moon Blessing

a blessing I wrote for an assignment...enjoy

Mother Moon -

As I enter the luminous darkness

I will quietly turn towards mystery

With courage and grace

I will expand my consciousness 

To face my fears and shadows

As you wax I will nourish my seeds

I will navigate through dark places

As your feminine wisdom guides me 

I will bring forth truth from my dreams 

To open magical gateways 

As I bathe in your full light 

I will un-tame my raw wild 

Set myself free 

I will howl at the wind

Summon my strength 

I will unleash my potential 

As you wane 

I will reflect and listen 

And surrender to the Universe

I will reaffirm my beliefs

And transform my reality 

As your silvery glow vanishes

I will surrender to the divine with gratitude 

I will forgive and release 

I will accept and trust 

That you will heal and balance me

I'm a moonchild, I've written lots of moon poems, but never have I written one as good as this! I've never even SEEN a moon poem that likens the waxing & waning to how one relates to this heavenly body, the way you did in your poem so expertly. This is what makes your poem mind-blowing becuz you depict the relationship between narrator & moon as being complex, multi-layered & almost like a religion.
