Chapter 16

"Let's see... the request said to take care of some goblins and a magic beast, right?"

Lumia stops running and looks around her surrounding, in the middle of a destroyed empty town.

"Yes, that is what it said. It seems this village was attack by them. The people who got away even said they took some prisoners, men and women."

"I see, well let's rescue them fast. Before terrible things happen to them."

Before Yuni got off Lumia's back to help look for clues, they heard a woman's scream. So Lumia ran off towards the sound, as Yuni keeps her arms wrap around Lumia's neck. Soon they arrive in near a cave in an open grassy area. Five women came running towards Lumia with fifteen goblins following behind them. Soon one of the women trip and fell on the ground.

Three goblins surrounded her and Yuni said, "Lumi, you have to help her."

But to her surprise they turn their backs to the woman and pointed their shield and weapons at the goblins behind them. So Lumia set Yuni down, drew her sword, which split in half and one part folded down, attaching a string from one end of the blade to the other, and forming a bow. She then summon a magic arrow in her left hand, drew the string of her bow, and fired it through the group towards the enemies. She continues to fire magic arrows one after another, while running. Until she got to the front of the three goblins, nodding her head, and they help the woman onto her feet, before running away. Lumia then summon a big magic arrow and fired it. It split into seven arrows and finished off the remaining goblins.

Once the battle was over Lumia's bow formed back into her sword and she made her way to where she left Yuni. Once she caught up, the women surrounded Yuni, while the goblins stood a few feet away from them. Lumia walked over to the goblins and talked to them. After a few mins of talking, Lumia learned that they were from a different group, and were making their way back home from hunting when they saw smoke. So they sent two of friends from the hunting group back home, with the catch in hand, while they check out what was happening. 

When they arrived, they saw a burned down village, and some goblins walking away. So they followed after them and arrive at the cave. They worked their way slowly in, while fighting off enemies one after another. Once they reach the end of the cave, they saw captives against the far end wall, five women and three men but they were separated. So they could only freed the women as they ran out of the cave.

Lumia nodded her head at their info and said, "Okay, then you guys take care of the ladies. I'll go back in and get the others."

The three goblins were surprise at what she said so one of them said, "Hey, you can't be serious, that's dangerous. There's at least one hundred if not more in there. Going alone will get you killed."

"Oh, don't worry I'm not going alone. I'm taking her with me."

Lumia held Yuni's hand and they walked away from the group. But before they could get close to the cave, a horde of fifty goblins came out, along with five orcs, and five mage goblins. The mages shot fireballs toward Lumia and Yuni, as a smile grew on Lumia's face. She let go of Yuni's hand, as waves of dark energy seeps out of her gauntlet, and she swings her left hand. Sending the dark energy forward, colliding with the fireballs, turning them black, and absorbing them back into her gauntlet.

The orcs rushed at Lumia, running as fast as they could, but were shot down by her bow and arrows. After she finish killing them, she jumped into the middle of the group, held her sword with both hands, and split it in two, holding a single edge sword in both hands. Then connected a chain between them, before throwing the sword in her left hand, and spinning it around her like a lasso. Killing everything from the center out and making the goblins retreat inside the cave. Once they retreated, she whipped the end of the chain up, and caught her sword, when it came back down.

A wolf, with two long fangs sticking out of its mouth, came out of the cave and it fired a ball of wind at Lumia. She blocked it with her swords, as the beast jump above her head, and lunge towards Yuni. So Lumia threw the sword in her right hand, wrapping it around Yuni's waist, before pulling Yuni towards her. Lumia caught her and embraces her with her right arm.

She connected her swords together, forming her double edge sword again, holding it in her left hand, as the chains disappear, and saying, "Extend and devour."

Her sword extended to three times its length, as the dark energy travels from her gauntlet up the blade. The beast ran away from them towards the five women and three goblins. Before it could get further away, Lumia swing her sword, cutting its body in half, before it turn black, and was absorb into the sword. The length of the sword return to normal, before Lumia loosen her grip around Yuni's waist, and they both walk into the cave.

To their surprise there was no resistance and soon made their way to the end of the cave. Only to find a dark knight  with red eyes standing alone, at the end. He glance at Lumia and Yuni and decided to focus his sight on Lumia. Suddenly vanishing from sight, he had pinned Lumia against the walls, by the neck with his left hand, and aim his right hand at her chest. But he struck the wall, as Lumia sunk into the darkness, and avoided his attack. She reappear next to Yuni, hugging her before sinking again, the dark knight also sunk into the darkness, and headed towards the cave exit.

He saw both Lumia and Yuni running and was about to grab Yuni's hand. When they suddenly left the shadow world and back into the normal world. Once they made it to the group, Lumia stop running, and turned around, to fight their pursuer.

The dark knight drew his sword and swung at Lumia from the left side. Lumia blocked it and everyone behind her decided to give her some space to fight. Judging that they'll do more harm then help, if they were to join. Lumia looked away, to see if they were a safe distance away, but instead saw a curve blade behind her. The dark knight's sword split in half, pushing one of the halves up, and curving it behind Lumia. He then pulled his sword back, bringing the scythe closer to Lumia's neck, but she blocked it with her gauntlet. While trying to kick the knight with her right leg, which he caught in his left hand. Before tripping Lumia, by sweeping her left leg from under her, with their leg and making her land on the ground. He then press his feet against her back and her right hand, keeping her on the ground, and unable to fight back.

While he place his sword-scythe underneath her neck, but before he could pull it up, Lumia said, "Armor release."

A suit of black armor completely envelope her and protected her from the blade. As she pushes herself slightly off the ground, before bending her legs, and kicking the knight in the back. Sending him forward and off her, while she flips herself back onto her feet.

The knight turn around to face her and seeing her armor, said, "God release."

Dark waves of energy continuously seeps out of every corner of his body, as the armor grew spikes on his shoulders, knees, elbows, and the back of his hands.

"Oh... already going full force. Guess I'll have to do the same, god release."

Her armor disappear, reverting back to her regular clothes and gear, but now her whole body was completely, darken, black. While the same dark waves of energy seeps out of her body continuously and a ball of darkness covered her left hand.
