"Splendor Upon the Grass"

"Splendor Upon the Grass"

A Poem by Valentine

   "Splendor Upon the Grass"

You lie,

in all of your naked splendor,

sprawling upon the grass.

All eyes looking

upon the sparkling diamonds

of your eyes.

All heads

turned toward you,

as if that were your due.

You lie glistening

boldly daring

all eyes to see

the beauty of your face.

As you lie naked

covered in diamonds

awaiting the morning sun

to kiss the moisture

off of your body

and your face;

and as the sun appears...

all glistening disappears

before our very eyes.

As the morning's warmth

erases the 'DEW'

that was you.
