You sit there...

In your easy chair,

Staring at the space

Inbetween you and I.

 

I see your eyes...

Not fixed upon me;

But on a distant star...

A far off horizon.

 

In awe I wonder..

Do you see me...

Or through my being,

To some far off shore?

 

All that any human needs...

You fully provide...yet,

There you sit staring at...

Something I cannot see.

 

What would it take...

Just what could I give,

To just once feel you gaze

Warmly upon my face?

Watching parents drift away and nothing we can do stops them hurts. I wish no one ended their lives like this. But it happens in families every day. Kathie
