“I Wanted to Know”

“I Wanted to Know”

A Poem by Vania Aleksandrova
"

A quiet reflection on growth, motherhood, and the wisdom that time brings.

"

I Wanted to Know

(translated from Bulgarian by Vania Alex)

I wanted to know how I walk through my days"
does each thought carry kindness within it?
Do my words pour out from the heart?
And my sons"do they grow into men for this world?

I wanted to know if my losses
were lessons I kept behind silent lips.
My mistakes " bright ornaments in my soul,
and wisdom " how long does it take to bloom?

Now I know " my sons walk proudly
their path through thorns and fences.
Silence whispers: hope still lives,
all I have been was a step toward the light.

Now I know how silence sounds,
how hope sings " unextinguished, clear.
Each tomorrow brings the breath of a dream,
and every step " a new meaning in the heart.
