Sun, that Wretch

Sun, that Wretch

A Poem by Mikael Malmberg

A radiant sun overhead,

singing glory and praise.

Bathing in warmth,

spreading light;

rays like greedy fingers fumbling for your eyes.

You are blinded, led to folly;

to enjoying the warmth, the joy you found,

not to forget about vitamin D.

So to the sun, that wretch, keeping us alive;

'I guess you're okay,

though you'll still be my demise.
'

My first poem ever, wrote it during a recess. What should I do better next time I decide to do a poem?

Not dazzled by the sun, the poem sees through no rosy-tinted glasses.

Ha, the title immediately grabbed my attention and the poem did not disappoint! Funny, clever, yet insightful. I greatly enjoyed reading this.

Thank you! It's probably missing a stanza somewhere inbetween, but I'm glad you liked it. :)

OK. You are welcome...:)
I'm not anything of a poet, so I can't really give any advice about writing a poem. I liked this, though. But why do you want the sun to go to Hell? :p

I write on-and-off, but writing is a permanent interest for me. There's never going to be a time when I won't be interested in the art of writing, the arrangement of words, their style and rhythm and .. more..
