The Only Way to Be SavedA Poem by VelvetPotatoInspired by a book I'm reading about Buddhism.
The only way to be saved. . .
- The jays, at dawn, sing fragmented, dismayed, To introduce this morn's greet of heartache, The Melodic Dissonance of the day. The default negativity, The uncertainty of resiliency, The Expectations that Let Down, The disillusionment towards "The Crown," The lethargy that yielded to apathy, Robbed opportunities of happiness, The heaviness and angry spasms, Left for hollow mental chasms, The boiled over unkindness, Towards myself and the World around. . . In broken desperation, With swollen eyelids, trembling hands, I wrote in all caps with my pen, and screamed over all else in my head, THE ONLY CHANCE THAT I'VE GOT, THE ONLY WAY TO BE SAVED, IS TO BREAK THE EASY PATTERN, OF TOXIC THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS, TO STRIP EVERYTHING OF ESSENCE, AND REDEFINE IT AGAIN. (the only chance that I've got, the only way to be saved, is a paradigm shift, quiet mind: to meditate)
