Sailing

Sailing

A Poem by VelvetPotato

Have not seen the sea

since early twenties

but the Mariner said

he was ready

Remind me of the

wavering foams

crème azure

waning sun but

encapsulated time

Let’s go to the dock

untie the lines

and ride the trade winds

free

We’ll go to the bow

or maybe the stern

If you tack and jibe

properly

He is back on land

let’s feel that trance

of sea romance

ecstatic and

shaking

Propel deep into the night

fulfill my soul

until the ebbing tide

brings sleep
