Salad

Salad

A Poem by VelvetPotato

Lennon Lemons
Allowed to "see"
But rather, in blueberry skies
It was Lucy with Rubies

Tossed and tossed
Metaphorically
Trojans unlocked the gate
For Greeks to run and play

I'd like a cup of tea
Within Harrison, without LSD
But the salad is rotten
And quite naïve

Get on, with this strange song
Be a friend, indeed
For gamblers that lose fortunes
Win the occasional Penny

"Penny Lane there is a barber taking photographs of every head he's had the pleasure to know...and all the people that come and go"
And there are more people going than coming these days.

No diamonds, just getting high with a little help from the friends I thought I had.
But I was too naïve, the friends have all turned in their albums...
Half the Beatles are gone...the better half in my eyes and mind.
Imagine the taxman in a number nine dream...
at least metaphorically....
Got a letter from Lucy today....she misses John and George...
and "She's Leaving Home, bye bye"---
