Heaven's Tears

Darkness seeps into the soul

Like the sun has given it's final war cry.

Brother against brother,

The rumble of war,

Lost in the stillness of the icy chill.

 

A flash of white,

A screaming death,

A victim of many,

A last breath,

 

And then it's gone.

The sky splits like a sword to the heart,

Pain as hard and as pointed as crystal daggers,

Fall to the weather hardened ground.

 

The heavens bleed grace.

This was my poem for the 'I challenge you' Group challenge, called Humanity. You had to write a poem for a picture. I'm on my iPhone doing this, so the picture will be uploaded ASAP.

Absolutely beautiful! loved all imagery they are very touching and pure. Last stanza was my favorite. Keep writing.

crystal daggers the heavens bleed grace, to have to live through war, death and mayhem one may chose to fall under one of those crystal daggers and have the grace of death give them peace of mind. One could say that your poem is happening right now in our world. Very good write and I am happy you accepted the challenge and wrote something wonderful.
