Little Monster

This is a poem I wrote in honor of a friend and neighbor who passed away due to cancer.

A bleak monster,

Stalking its victims unseen.

A mystery to most,

This little monster.

It invades you body

Seems to steal your soul.

            Silent.

            Deadly.

It kills.

Healing is long for those left behind.

Someday,

We will beat this monster.

We will put an end to this killer,

That we call cancer.
