Blood Moon

Blood Moon

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

In the heart of a storm
with a wave of lightning
and love deformed
nebulous shadow-spiders
drift across my head
and think my eyes dead

It’s so cold
I feel my bare skin
turn to ice at the touch
of yours again

Magnanimous thoughts
spread like a light
in the wake of a death
in the night
the bloody light
of the crystalline moon
shines down infused
with glory and truth
by the hand of Dionysus
the soul runs wild
trembling with
raw desire

The cerise moon
spirit rushes
a spaceship under
the lovely crushes
and floats down
the daisy-chain river
imbuing the world
with nothing but shivers
the city chokes
under the stressing streets
and cross-eyed dead-end defeats

Release! Release!
cry out in the dark
unleash the music
pulsating and hark

My soul awakened
burns with love
and vaporizes the world
dreamt of
outward beauty
inward beauty
I’m transfixed
by the insane girl eclipsed
staring into
the bitter universe
waiting for the world
to split by verse
the spirit of blood moon
raises its black hole eyes
it screams
it sighs
we know
that our spirits
lie intertwined
while our minds
are preoccupied
in the heart of a storm
with a wave of love
and lightning deformed
