Fire & Ice

Fire & Ice

A Poem by ac4st3r

It was fire, it was ice, strange, I didn’t really know
A vicious, deadly storm caused by an unexpected foe
Time after time, as I stand in line, I still remember
Sitting down there, hypnotised, hiding from a blinding light
A thousand silent voices bellowing above me, as
All the shining stars up in my sky fell down that night
Now that all the debris has been cleared, everything’s rebuilt
And life, life goes on, and the stronger ones it cannot bind
So I’m still lost; bound out there in the universe
Who can see the pain inside, at this time, in my mind?
Day after day, as I march on to future victory
Who can see my heart’s burning scars from yesterday?
Trapped in a circle, desperately lost, helpless, so far away
But it’s not a problem; it’s all in your head they say
‘Cos the storm has drifted away, balance is now restored
And life, life goes on, and the stronger ones carry on
Strong enough to stay and carry on forever, reach for what I know
Prepare myself to fight whenever, time to let it go
Their stars are back in the sky, but mine are scattered around
Who can see the pain inside, at this time, in my mind?
As I join your seemingly painless world of happiness
Can you see the pain inside, at this time, in my mind?
Lost in new laughter, happy-ever-after, why can’t I
Forgive them their fire and ice, for the prize of a new life.
