Hi Vol! I think you are speaking about your creativity or non- creativity depending upon those neurons and how they spin around in your brain.... sometimes very fast and other times not...a really great metaphor for how and why you write, and I think it's pretty common to have periods of "boredom" in the brain and periods of super excitement...like " some bored cell gets a wild hair...."
Great!

It's about something I think about once in a while, where do thoughts originate? When I had a lesson to teach and five classes, I'd cover the same lesson and with all it's parts, but not a single repeated sentence... most of the time we miss the whole process of how a thought begins, presents, matures and is published by my tongue, and it fits seamlessly in with what we've been talking about. How can the flow be so perfect with no preplanning. They make a point, we respond, we make a wise-crack, or a perfect argument...
Sorry, it's just the kind of guy I am...

Being I have no idea what you're talking about here except the ADHD which you told me about and I've come to see if you've written about it. And Voila!
Vol, I don't know the why or the how but I know I love to read your words.
That's it. Is that enough?
(P.S. I've seen this cartoon! I think .)

Sounds like to me you know exactly what I'm talkin' 'bout...
I sometimes feel that too Vol, but most of the time I picture a hamster, dead on his wheel for when the thoughts just don't come.
Then I just put my faith in herbal remedies and try to get my thoughts to touch the sky! 😃
I only had 18 months of fun in the sixties, being born in July 68, but it must have been some party because I don't remember a single thing about it!

Hahaha! Lorry, what bothers me is other generations appropriating what was a very unique Zeitgeist confined in that narrow three or four years in the sixties. It was not the clothes, it wasn't the weed, orthe hair, but our bellies roiling with the knowledge that the world had gotten life all wrong for as long as you want to go back, and we decided we'd try something different. We had casual conversations under the sound of Bob Dylan about peace and love a lot of us tried, really tried, when we weren't so tired from all that free love, we wanted to return to the earth, eschew the "plastic" world of our parents, and only buy leather, and wood. We didn't hassel folks, we got high, and dropped Acid because we wanted to see what all that other stuff inside our heads...There was a lot of laughing going on. We watched LBJ lie about the Gulf of Tonkin then sixty thousand of our brothers die for it. Fat chance we were gonna pay any attention or respect to those dark-hearted politicians ... hell, anybody over 30. It was a b***h to haul around a record player and records... and we danced out in the middle of the street sometimes... Ah, s**t, man ya got me started and since I'm high right now, I'm not sure how to stop...

I think it was called a dancette and it still sounded better than any download or cd. That was no longer than about a year ago so no wonder you got to the moon with the equivalent technology of a calculator, when today its still fifty fifty whether a rocket launches or pebbledashes people over whatever is underneath it at the time.
But at least I can still say I was there, if only in a nappy-shitting, gurgling kinda way! 😀

Back in 1972, I bought a brand new VW Beetle for $1999.95, an event that has made it impossible for me to reconcile my brain with my heart, when I see what has happened to money. "$1400 in today's money would have been $180.00 in 1975. It is one of the reasons I hate numbers.

I started writing in the 70's...did that car get rolling in the previous years?
Maybe I just keep reving the engine and changing the tires...or the pens, or now, the keys.

Good question! My brain is riddled with ADHD... it is never still and putting some of my thoughts on paper is a nice distraction, I get to see if I'm making any sense and my two inspirations Socrates said "T he unexamined life is not worth living," and Lewis Carrol via Grace Slick, "Remember what the dormouse said, 'Feed your head." Then there is the bit about wanting acceptance so we look for ways to get it out there... A major poet in Nashville, James C, Floyd once told me we write poetry so a readeer can become better acquainted with themselves... I learned a lot from "The Jefferson Street Poet."

Hi Vol, we sniffed a lot of glue, not just glue, it was Weldwood Contact Cement.
See how I've persevered! I can even remember that name. It's a miracle!
We dropped acid, I was 13, it was my first time, I actually thought it was candy.
Later that night at my grandma's I realized differently!
I called the guys (I never hung with girls) and they were laughing like crazy!
Thanks for being straightforward! You bring back many memories! Oh! Cheers!
