AWARE

A Poem by Vol

Aware

D. H. Lawrence 1885 "1930

Slowly the moon is rising out of the ruddy haze,
Divesting herself of her golden shift, and so
Emerging white and exquisite; and I in amaze
See in the sky before me, a woman I did not know
I loved, but there she goes and her beauty hurts my heart;
I follow her down the night, begging her not to depart.

Always ends the same Vol. They always leave you in the end! 😃
They grab your attention by divesting themselves of clothing and then just do one and disappear into the day, leaving you begging for more.
It's a bit like a gentle cooling breeze after a day of silly degree temperatures just stopping without warning... so I'm told, but I hope to find out this weekend as the weatherologists say some scorching weather is due. (Don't worry though, I don't trust them so I'm taking my waterproofs and ski gear too, just in case!

That has to be one of the saddest poems and not a hint of an apology, Vol! Unlike your usual wit and
wisdom, sir. Plus at a time in the excessively hot UK weather, the cool of a sweet moon would be more than welcome!
